Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Radiology Systems Specialist / Information Analyst to join the Radiology Systems Support Team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Based in the University Department of Radiology, the successful applicant will support the administration and management of all radiology systems including the Picture Archive & Communication System, Radiology Information System and EPR. In this role you will contribute to efficient day-to-day RIS/PACS service delivery, ensuring continuity of patient care and data integrity. The role also includes participation in the development and maintenance of RIS/PACS operational policies, provision of data support to Radiology IT projects and business cases, and responsibility for the completion of national data collection exercises.

To be considered for this role applicants must have strong RIS/PACS experience, proven knowledge of process driven IT systems in a clinical environment and must satisfy the essential criteria of the person specification.

Main duties of the job

  • Supports the Radiology Systems Manager in the administration and management of all Radiology systems; this includes the Picture Archive & Communication System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and the Radiology elements of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system
  • Ensures efficient day-to-day PACS/RIS service delivery in the clinical environment to ensure continuity of patient care; maintains the integrity, safe use and security of the PACS/RIS databases
  • Provides advice and assistance in all matters associated with the provision, implementation, maintenance and effective use of IT technology
