Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner (GP) to join our team and contribute to the strategic development of the Primary Care branch of the South East (SE) School of Physician Associates (PAs) - Thames Valley/Wessex hub.
We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our team and provide high level leadership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the region. They will work alongside all PA School staff including the Regional Clinical Director, PA Director, School Managers, PA Ambassadors and our administrator. They will also work closely with the Thames Valley & Wessex Primary Care School team and local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
The South East PA school was established and funded by Health Education England (HEE) South East (SE) to enable and support delivery of excellent healthcare by Physician Associates across the region, through the education, training, development, employment, deployment, and retention of the profession.
The SE PA School will cover the breadth of the region, operating out of two hub sites [SASH NHS Trust, and RBH NHS Trust]; core faculty for the SE PA School will be identical in each hub site and post holders will be regarded as members of a SE-wide team, but with some specific geographical responsibilities. Post holders will be expected therefore to work closely with their counterpart in the other hub site.
Main duties of the job
- To provide effective clinical leadership, contributing to the strategic development of the South East PA School.
- To develop ICS-level primary care knowledge and intelligence relating to workforce challenges and pressures, and provide guidance to system leadership on potential deployment and development of Physician Associates, working in partnership with the HEE SE Workforce Transformation ICS leads.
- Evaluates stakeholder needs from a range of qualitative and quantitative data sources (NWRS data, ICS strategic delivery plans, stakeholders' input, commissioned research) to inform further development of PA School work streams relating to Primary Care, working in partnership with the HEE SE Business Intelligence Teams.
