Job summary

As part of the Occupational Health Multidisciplinary Team the Vaccination centre is taking responsibility for the seasonal flu jab alongside the Covid booster's vaccination and Covid testing, and a new staff travel vaccination clinic.

The post holder will support the department to deliver high quality, comprehensive and proactive seasonal flu and Covid boosters vaccination campaign.

The post holder will primarily be involved in coordination and delivery of the seasonal flu and Covid booster's vaccination campaign and associated health promotion activities across the Trust visiting wards, running clinic on site and on our satellite sites as required.

The post holder will work as an effective team member, assisting in the management and the organisation of work as required. The post holder will display effective communication skills and work as a role model for good practice, supporting and developing colleagues as required.

Main duties of the job

  1. Assist the Lead Nurse Manager/ Sister in the coordination and day to day delivery of the seasonal flu and Covid vaccination campaign to the Trust's and any additional customers.

  1. Manage and prioritise own workload in the day to day delivery of seasonal flu and Covid vaccination campaign.

  1. Works as an effective team member, demonstrate good personal communication skills and actively promote excellent team and interdisciplinary relationships.

  1. To take responsibility for ordering clinical stock including seasonal flu and Covid vaccines from pharmacy and associated supplies from materials management to support the flu and Covid booster vaccination campaign.

  1. To following the Trust Medicines policy and departmental policies including Patient Group Directive's (PGD's) / Seasonal Flu and Covid vaccine written instructions on the safe storage (including cold chain management), administration and disposal of immunisation/medication.
