Job summary
A Full Driving Licence and a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence is required.
A vacancy has arisen for Security Officers to join the busy Security Depart at PHT working at Queen Alexandra. An average of 37.5 hours per week, includes weekend/evenings which attracts an unsocial payment. Duties - include a security presence in A&E, internal/external patrols, locking and alarming of buildings, assisting staff/general public with security and parking problems. Training for monitoring of CCTV system and control room duties.
An advantage if a valid CCTV Licence was held. On and off the job training will be provided. Previous security or forces employment would also be an advantage.
Uniforms are supplied, and a smart appearance is essential. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
Must be SIA trained to effectively carry out all duties in line with Policy and Procedure.
Report all Security and Car Parking machinery related maintenance requirements within the department and across the Trust to the Help Desk.
Help direct emergency vehicles and other traffic if a major incident occurs.
Computer literate to deal with complex systems within the Security Dept, eg: Trust I.D badges system, CCTV.
Carry out internal/external patrols of all buildings, grounds and any other premises as may be required using the electronic frequency tags located internally/externally around the site. This reduces the risk to staff and property out of hours and give detailed information of rounds completed and by whom.
To process and produce ID cards for PHT, Portsmouth Healthcare Trust and Health Authority personnel using the imaging badging system in an efficient and professional manner so all Trust staff are identifiable and can move around the site in an efficient, effective manner.
Deal with car parking problems, minor problems on all machinery and use the car parking control computer.
