Job summary

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic pharmacist to join our pharmacy clinical trials team. This is an exciting time to join as we increase our capacity and capability to meet the new 150 day target for trial set-up, increase our early phase clinical trial portfolio and develop ATMP studies.

The team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust comprises of approximately 500 pharmacy staff working across five sites and is one of the biggest pharmacy departments in the country.

Main duties of the job

To deliver, develop and evaluate the Pharmacy Clinical Trial Service across STH .To collaborate with the Clinical Research and Innovation Office (CRIO), the Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and the wider research team.To set up and deliver trials, including early phase and trials involving Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATIMPs).

Essential

  • MPharm degree in pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Higher degree/ Post-graduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent postgraduate diploma

Desirable

  • Post-graduate Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Registered Independent Prescriber

Experience

Essential

  • Broad clinical pharmacy background
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy including:- Clinical trials, Aseptic services, Specialist knowledge of legislation relating to Clinical Trial of an Investigational Medicinal Product, Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and experience of handling clinical trial material (IMP).
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Clinical audit/research & evaluation experience

Desirable

  • Appropriate Short Management Courses e.g. Appraisal training, Leadership skills
