Job summary

The department are looking to appoint 1.5WTE, commencing as soon as possible until 4th August 2026. MRCP or equivalent is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are equivalent to StR in Cardiology.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered with the GMC with a license to practise
  • ALS
  • Full MRCP or equivalent

Clinical Experience.

Essential

  • Completed Core Medical Training
  • 6 Months Experience of working in the NHS (Excluding Clinical Attachments)

Desirable

  • Some experience in cardiology (eg echocardiography, diagnostic angiography, brady pacing)

Research

Essential

  • Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.

Desirable

  • Publications in Peer reviewed journals.

Continuous Professional Development

Essential

  • Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months

Desirable

  • Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio

Personal attributes

Essential

  • Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)
  • Good written communication skills
