Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse position within Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Northern General Hospital. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced nurse to assist the Senior Sister in managing Huntsman 4.

Main duties of the job

Provide leadership and clinical expertise, provide high quality patient care, promote quality improvement and support the senior sister in manging the ward.

Exercise judgement in assessing wide ranging patient problems and promote options for optimum patient care, including health promotion and education.

Develop and implement evidence-based programmes of care which are patient focused, health promoting, and system managed.

To maintain effective communication with all patients, carers, and members of the Healthcare team.

To act sensitively, confidentially and with empathy in demonstrating understanding of wide-ranging physical and emotional needs.
