Senior (ACP) Specialised Cancer Services, Adjuvant Breast Cancer

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated , innovative qualified ACP to join our Specialised Cancer Services Team and contribute to the development of our adjuvant breast cancer service.

We are seeking an inspirational, influential leader who is confident, dynamic and visible and has significant experience working as an ACP within a non-surgical oncology setting and is committed to working to completion of the ACCEND ACP framework. Working with department managers and wider teams the individual will be required to ensure that clinical quality standards are consistently achieved and maintained.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for nursing, be a role model who demonstrates the Trust values. As an autonomous practitioner the post holder will be required to work collaboratively with the wider MDT. They will also provide leadership and mentorship to support the development of the wider nursing team.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be a member of the team leading and delivering this exciting new service along with Consultant oncologists, Advanced Clinical Pharmacists and other ACP's.

Experience of working in Oncology independently assessing patients' suitability for systemic anticancer therapy (SACT) and subsequently prescribing SACT, particularly within Breast Cancer is also desirable.

Essential

  • Relevant Masters' degree in Advanced Practice or recognised qualification via the supported portfolio route from HEE Centre for Advancing Practice
  • Registered Nurse with Valid NMC registration or Health Care Professional and registered with HCPC with relevant clinical experience
  • Advanced Physical Assessment module, Non-Medical Prescribing (if part of proposed role)
  • Advanced life support qualification (ALS/ILS)
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development
  • Recognised Leadership Award/qualification or equivalent experience
  • To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
