Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our secretarial team within the Diabetes and Endocrinology service. The role provides a link between the Trust, the patient and their GP for patients/carers and other healthcare professionals. You will provide a comprehensive, efficient and responsive secretarial service to the medical staff and their teams.
To work collaboratively with the clerical, secretarial and clinical teams to provide an accurate and effective secretarial service. The post holder will work with minimal supervision and be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a wide range of specific secretarial duties.
Main duties of the job
Provide a support service to the Consultants, CNS Nursing Team and Multi-disciplinary team by undertaking a wide range of secretarial duties, under the direction of the Service Coordinator.To maintain the highest standard of confidentiality in line with the Trust code of practice for safeguarding medical information and comply with Data Protection Act, Access to health records Act and related Acts, Health and Safety procedures and Confidentiality.Provide an accurate, high quality and complete secretarial service, filing, audio typing (G2 digital dictation), manuscript or verbal dictation to meet Trust standards.Answer telephone enquiries, taking messages as appropriate and dealing personally with routine enquiries.To provide absence cover for colleagues.Work effectively as a team member working to the Unit's protocols and policies in line with the Trust.
