An exciting opportunity has arisen within GRaDE to support the nursing and medical teams with the provision of a comprehensive administration service.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic team player with proven admin skills. You need to be flexible and reliable to provide efficient and effective Admin duties.
We are seeking a confident individual with excellent communication skills and a professional, tactful and diplomatic approach to work within this busy department. This is a demanding but interesting and varied role.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to work as part of a team and the initiative to work unsupervised when necessary. An understanding of confidentiality is essential as well as a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Good communication skills and excellent keyboard skills are essential.
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so a flexible approach to a working shift pattern is required.
Main duties of the job
To welcome patients to the ward in a pleasant, tactful manner and deal with enquiries including at times where there may be barriers to understanding.
To assist in monitoring and updating of the Trust's electronic patient systems ensuring data entry is accurate/correct.
Answer telephone enquiries and refer on as necessary to appropriate members of staff.
Input accurate information onto the electronic patient system ensuring timely recording of admissions and discharges.
Deal with enquiries and telephone calls in a professional manner.
Assist in the ordering of patient transportation.

There are regional services in small bowel, liver, nutrition and advanced endoscopy.
The Gastroenterology Directorate provides a comprehensive specialist service for the management of patients, including the provision of emergency and elective inpatient care, outpatient care and diagnostic services.
