Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laundry Manager within the facilities directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.
The role of the laundry is to provide a timely and efficient supply of good quality linen to the Trust and to service any commercial contracts with other healthcare providers.
The role of the Facilities Directorate is to provide high quality, cost effective facilities services throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Ensure the Trust complies with the requirements of HTM 01-04 in respect of the decontamination of linen for Health and Social Care in its operation of the onsite laundry and the provision of linen to the Trust.
To ensure an adequate supply of linen within the Trust through the distribution of clean supplies and the use of top up systems.
To ensure that the contractual obligations of providing linen services to other hospitals are met.
To run the laundry on a commercial footing and lead the process to bid for any external work from other NHS Trusts when this is feasible.
Maintain quality management standards within the laundry including compliance with ISO 9002. Implement any actions necessary arising from external quality audits.
