This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 3 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop your career within our Neuro Critical care unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The department has capacity for 21 Critical care beds providing top quality, modern facilities for the management of Neuro surgical and Neuro medical patients via elective and emergency pathways, enabling our multidisciplinary teams to work together to provide a high standard of care for patients.

Essential

  • RGN Level one
  • NMC registered
  • To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
  • First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
  • Continuous professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Completion of recognised accredited ICU course modules
  • Extensive experience at Band 6 in a critical care setting
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a professional team
  • Demonstration of involvement in unit developments, undertaking specific responsibilities within NCCU
  • Completion of advanced clinical and management competencies

Desirable

  • Experience deputising for Senior Sister / Charge Nurse
  • Extensive experience at band 6 in Neuro Critical care
