An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop your career within our Neuro Critical care Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
We are looking for highly motivated, patient-focussed, competent critical care nurses to assist the ward managers in managing the acute and dynamic unit.
We are a regional Neuro Critical Care accepting elective and emergency Level 2 or 3 patients across South Yorkshire.
Applications are invited from UK Registered Nurses who have extensive experience in critical care nursing. They must be a fully trained and competent critical care nurse in possession of the critical care course or equivalent and have appropriate post-course specialist competencies and experience. Working towards completion of critical care management workbook is essential. Applicants should have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998 and a relevant management course is essential.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate management and leadership skills. Clinical expertise and organisational ability are also vital, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
These positions are permanent and include rotation between our three general units, across two hospital sites.
The main duties of the role are to provide high quality, evidence based care to patients within Neuro critical care unit.
You will be expected to develop and provide specialised programmes of nursing care to a diverse range of patients. To lead a team of qualified nurses, support staff and student team members. To take charge of the ward / department regularly. And to support the Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered.
You will need to be flexible and passionate about delivering care to critically ill patients.
