We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated, innovative nurse leader, to join Sheffield Teaching Hospital's NHS Foundation Trust as an Associate Nurse Director.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be accountable to the Nurse Director for Haematology and Specialised Cancer Services (HaSC) and Specialised Medicine and Rehabilitation (SMR) Care Groups. On behalf of the Nurse Director, they will be required to provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership and management, representing nursing within the services of the Specialised Medicine and Rehabilitation Care Group.

Attributes should include proven leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate evidence of leading and managing change in a dynamic and challenging environment. Applicants will need to demonstrate experience of working effectively in a complex, multi professional environment within an acute hospital setting and an ability to contribute to performance management objectives, working within set financial controls and resources.

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for nursing, service development, and promote best possible evidence based clinical practice. Applicants must also have exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead, influence, negotiate to inspire a culture of positive change to deliver the best quality patient care and experience.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife on the UK Nursing and Midwifery register.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Educated to degree level or higher
  • Recognised management qualification.
  • Master's level study or working towards

Experience (Previous/current work or any other relevant experience)

Essential

  • Extensive post-registration experience of working effectively in a relevant multi-professional environment.
  • Must have been at middle management level and have significant experience in several disciplines, eg. Clinical governance, financial management, performance management, information systems and staff management, acquired through training and experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Significant senior nursing and leadership experience, demonstrating ability to manage and lead services during time sof complexity and
  • Knowledge of broader NHS agenda

Special Skills/Aptitudes (Verbal, numerical, mechanical)

  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly EXCEL

  • Excellent analytic and interpretation skills
