Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic Reception & Clerical Team and playa central role in the development of new ways of working to ensure Patients receive the best possible outpatient experience.

The Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic hosts a range of services supporting the women of Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire region.

We are looking for a high calibre candidate with a demonstrable understanding of how to lead and motivate a team, continuously improve service quality and act as a focal point to assist the wider multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot any problems arising on a day to day basis.

Candidates must have a combination of excellent listening and interpersonal skills, a thorough and methodical attention to detail, good problem solving skills and the ability negotiate and use judgement to make autonomous decisions.

Applicants must be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent; with a minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) one of which must be English Language (grade C or above). Applicants must demonstrate continuous development and recent supervisory experience in a customer service or general administration environment. A strong aptitude for designing and enforcing new systems and IT would be a distinct advantage.

Main duties of the job

Working in a strong multidisciplinary environment you will manage a team of around 10 staff, developing consistent andhigh quality processes and procedures that ensure the staff provide best possible service to the women and their partners who attend the Gynaecology Outpatient Clinic.

  • GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English or equivalent experience/ qualifications.
  • NVQ administration Level 3 or be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge and experience in Admin
  • Training in the use of relevant information systems and IT packages to ECDL level or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Extensive experience of working in a customer facing clerical role with the public
  • Experience of providing administrative support to a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of using an Electronic Patient Record System
  • Experience of supervising staff and a maintaining established standards
  • Excellent computer skills including standard office packages and e-mail
  • Experience of delivering 1-1 training.
  • Experience of exercising initiative and demonstrating innovative approaches within overall delegated responsibility and parameters

  • Experience of service improvement/developing standard operating procedures/improving working practices.
