Specialist Doctor in Medical/Clinical Oncology- Breast Cancers

Job summary

We are looking to appoint a whole time Specialist Doctor in Oncology with a focus on Breast Cancers at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Weston Park Cancer Centre, with outreach clinics within the SYBND cancer alliance.

Applications from both Medical and Clinical Oncologists are welcome.This post is based at Weston Park Cancer Centre and also provides input into our out reach off site breast oncology clinic.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the posts; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with the Clinical Director.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of cancer services across the trust. The main focus of interest will be in Breast Cancer.The successful candidate will work according to the Terms and Conditions of Service for Specialist (England) 2021 as amended from time to time.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical Degree from a recognised UK or overseas university or institution.
  • MRCP or Equivalent
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice.
  • A minimum of 12 years full time Medical work (or equivalent gained on a part-time basis) since obtaining a primary medical qualification at least 6 of which will be in a relevant specialty at Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades or equivalent

Desirable

  • MD or PhD or equivalent Fellowship or equivalent
  • Oncology Training Specialty Certificate for medical oncology
  • FRCR or Equivalent - For Clinical Oncology
