Job summary
The appointment is for a fixed term period of 12 months. Cardiology Specialist Training in Coronary Intervention is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are appropriate to ST7 equivalent or post-CCT Cardiology Specialist Trainee in PCI.

The post holder will gain experience as a high-volume operator in complex PCI with full involvement in the CTO service using the full hybrid algorithm.
The successful candidate will also undertake 1 out-patient clinic per week with an emphasis on PCI and cardio-renal disease. It is anticipated that this will advance our cardio-renal network.
The clinical fellow will be a very valuable addition to our clinical and research team and facilitate advancement of research.

- Broad Training in general Cardiology
- Independent Angiogram operator with at least 300 cases
- 2nd Operator PCI experience - 50-100 cases
- 1st Operator PCI experience - 50-100 cases
- ST 7 equivalent or Post CCT.
Desirable
- Exposure to complex PCI as a 1st Operator
- Experience in research and publication in cardiology especially intervention
- Resource management and committee work
Research

- Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
- Basic understanding of research methods and statistics.

- Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
- MD/PhD.
