An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 research nurse within the Diabetes research team at the Northern general hospital
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced nurse to join the diabetes research team, who has an interest in research and the research process.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of clinical trials / research within the department and speciality.
Ensure research undertaken within the department safeguards the well-being of patients and is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Guidelines for Research and is compliant with both research and clinical governance requirements.
They will deliver high quality patient care, acting as a role model for nursing practice across the speciality of diabetes and clinical research.

GRaDE Care Group is comprised of 3 clinical directorates:
Diabetes and EndocrinologyGastroenterology and HepatologyRespiratory Medicine
All three directorates operate on the Northern and Central campus' although the acute admitting base for all of the specialties is at the Northern General Hospital. The Care Group has 11 acute base wards at the Northern General Hospital and one acute and one elective base ward at the Central Campus. Outpatient services operate on both campus' and are supported by the Patient Booking Hub at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 2 years due to the post being recruited as part of a limited term project within the Trust. - Registered General Nurse - Adult, with valid NMC registration.
- To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
- Educated to degree level or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes)
- Extensive evidence of continuous professional development, including post graduate qualifications and/or academic research qualifications.
- Up to date Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate

- Management qualifications or experience

- Extensive experience working at AFC Band 5 or above within an acute speciality, related field, or experience of working in a clinical research environment
