An exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional to engage comprehensively with the governance agenda within a large, diverse, and forward-thinking care group. Joining a team with a proven track record of adherence to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals' core governance principles, you'll provide expert advice and support across all staff levels. Additionally, you'll contribute to the essential training program, ensuring compliance with both mandatory and job-specific requirements.
Your responsibilities will span various governance facets, including incident management and compliance monitoring, involving thorough investigation and detailed reporting. With a primary focus on enhancing patient and staff safety, the role demands strong communication and influencing skills to drive positive change. You'll play a crucial part in fostering a supportive environment aligned with the values of the SCS/SMR Governance Team and the broader Trust.
The successful candidate will operate across three hospital sites, covering multiple specialties.
Main duties of the job
We seek a highly driven and clinically adept individual with a solid grasp of governance principles. The ideal candidate will possess recent or current experience within the acute NHS setting and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal abilities.
These competencies include effective engagement with diverse professional cohorts, collaboration within a small team, active participation in governance discussions during multidisciplinary meetings, offering well-rounded perspectives on governance matters, and providing sound clinical and professional guidance to peers. Proficiency in computer usage, along with strong critical analysis and report writing skills, is essential.
The successful candidate must be flexible to work across NGH and RHH sites. While the role primarily operates within Monday to Friday office hours, occasional out-of-hours work, such as weekends and nights, may be necessary to support Bronze command as needed.
