Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to embrace a new challenge and gain invaluable experience as part of a busy and dynamic NHS management team.

The Cardiothoracic Directorate that sits under the South Yorkshire Regional Services (SYRS) Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The management team work collaboratively with clinical colleagues and other stakeholders to design and deliver effective pathways of care.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be highly motivated, forward thinking, organised and an ambitious individual. You will have excellent leadership skills to lead a team of administrative staff with the support of the Operational Management team and drive forward positive change within the department. The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team, delivering service improvement and change management.

You will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of capacity and demand management and national access targets. As an influential leader you will need strong people management skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence staff at all levels of seniority as well as the desire to work in a patient focused environment. You will have the ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines as well as an understanding of how to analyse and translate complex data.
