Job summary
Working within the Performance and Information team, the post holder will contribute to maintaining data quality throughout and supporting the implementation of a new Trust EPR system.
This will be achieved by generating data reports for validation at specified intervals and in line with Trust reporting requirements. From these reports, the post holder will be required to identify any trends/problems and agree with relevant mangers an action plan to validate all required reports within set reporting timescales. The post holder will support the wider Performance and Information team and the Data Management Workstream in the EPR programme by undertaking data validation checks and corrections where necessary.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take an important role within the Data Quality team to ensure that data is accurately recorded and errors are minimised. This will be achieved through:
- Identifying and documenting key data quality errors affecting each of the sub-directorates
- Ensuring that any data entry errors are escalated as appropriate
- Providing intense support to areas where errors occur and resolving any data quality issues
- Contributing to the development of local training documentation

The department has the following roles:
- Provides information to support the business planning and negotiation of the legally binding contract for the Trust.
- Provides a clinical coding service to ensure that the activity undertaken by the Trust is coded completely and accurately to ensure that the Trust secures the income that properly reflects its case mix complexity.
- Provides the necessary high quality data, information and analysis to enable performance management of the Trust at a local, regional and national level.
- Provides a central resource/support for OD's/CD's/TEG.
- Ensures that the Trust complies with the data quality aspects of the Information Governance requirements.
- Provides management, support and training for all business as usual Trust wide Clinical IT Systems, for example Lorenzo, SystmOne, EDMS, ICE and Digital Dictation.
- Leading the Data Management and Education and Training Workstreams of the Trust-wide EPR Implementation Programme.
