Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic dietetic assistant with excellent communication and teamwork skills to join our dietetic team at Weston Park Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity if you are proactive, organised and wish to work in a forward-thinking department, caring for the nutritional needs of our patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Under the direct supervision of the Dietitians, the successful candidate will help to facilitate the provision of nutrition and dietetic services at Weston Park Hospital. This includes supporting patients with their nutritional needs whilst they undergo their cancer journey.
Please note this job is not a Dietitian training post and as such we are looking for a committed team member to provide a range of both administrative and clinical support duties to our team of Dietitians and the wards at Weston Park Hospital. The role will include both clinical and administrative tasks, for example; providing nutritional supplements, enteral feeds and equipment to patients, reviewing patients for the Dietitians and completing some independent patient assessments.
This is a part time role which can be flexible, for example around school pick up times.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering equipment and nutritional products to patients.
- Supporting the dietetic service with patient related administrative duties such as sending dietetic handovers, letters, message taking, registration of home deliveries.
- To support the dietitians in the provision of advice to patients and carers.
- To contribute to the development of the dietetic service at Weston Park Hospital.

- Educated to GCSE level in maths and English (minimum grade C) or equivalent qualifications / experience
- NVQ level 3 in health care or working towards NVQ 3 in health care or equivalent clinical experience.

- RSA Word processing Level 1 or equivalent qualifications / experience
- Trained and worked as a dietetic assistant

- Good working knowledge of Windows based packages in particular Microsoft Word and Excel
