Job summary
The new postholder will work closely with a friendly and supportive team as well as clinical and corporate colleagues to support a first-class Finance team to ensure we provide the best possible care to patients and deliver the best value for money for the people of Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond. An effective working knowledge of IT packages and MS Windows, and strong numerical and team working skills are essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are vital. NHS experience and knowledge is desirable but not essential.

To help us do this we are now seeking a Financial Accounting Officer within the Financial Accounting & Governance team.

Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
- To work as a member of the Financial Accounting and Governance team to ensure the integrity of the General Ledger and that of all income, expenditure and control account transactions recorded therein.
- To provide a service which enables the Trust to precisely record and allocate all payments received, by the timely and accurate processing of all relevant documentation relating to remittances received and income banked.
- To undertake standardised processes and procedures on the relevant daily, weekly, monthly or annual cycle and help ensure the production of timely and relevant information for the completion of the Monthly Board Reports and the Annual Financial Accounts.
- To assist in maintaining the timely and effective provision of the Financial Accounting and Governance function underpinning the Trust's business operations.
