The pharmacy department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises of almost 500 staff working across 5 sites delivering care to patients from all over the country. As a forward-thinking department, we are keen to appoint enthusiastic, knowledgeable and exceptional individuals.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to lead the clinical pharmacy service to the Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery service. You will work within a well-established team including junior pharmacists, medicines management technicians and medicine management assistants. As a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team you will contribute to service improvement projects to enhance efficiencies within the orthopaedic and pharmacy directorates.
The Orthopaedic Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a service for the entire adult population of Sheffield. The trauma service is well established at the Northern General Site and the Elective orthopaedic surgery service is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To lead, deliver, develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services for Orthopaedics Trauma Surgery in accordance with the objectives set by the Principal Pharmacist and Clinical Directorate management representative (where applicable) in order to ensure safe, clinically effective and cost-efficient use of drugs.
To contribute to the pharmacy departmental services including evenings and weekends.
To work in close collaboration with the Lead Advanced Pharmacist for Elective Orthopaedic Surgery.
The post-holder will contribute to the departments weekend, bank holiday and evening (to 8pm) commitments
