We have great opportunities to support you in developing your emergency nursing knowledge and skills, as part of the nursing team in South Yorkshire's Major Trauma Centre. We are looking to recruit registered nurses with relevant emergency care experience to Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Working in an Emergency Department, that is a Major Trauma Centre; you will be working alongside a large multidisciplinary team including Emergency Department Consultants, hospital Trauma Teams, specialist nursing staff (Advanced Care Practitioners and Trauma Nurse Coordinators), allied health professionals and visiting teams.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, you would be taking a leading role in managing the Department with the support of the Matron, managing the flow of patients through the Department, managing staff, providing direct patient care and streaming; you will have the opportunity to be involved in reviewing the processes, pathways and standards for patients and their care in the ED; with a view to enhancing the quality of the care and improving the patient experience.

- NMC registered
- To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998
- Continuous professional development
- First degree or evidence of working towards one (demonstrating graduate attributes) RGN qualification
- Proven and relevant experience in the Emergency Department setting.
- Working towards degree level or evidence of equivalent health care related study
Desirable
- Post-registration A&E course or equivalent study
