Job summary
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the research team in Specialised Cancer Services at Weston Park Hospital. As a research administrator, you will play a key role in supporting research within the directorate by facilitating many of the administrative tasks involved with setup and coordination of research studies.
Primarily, the successful candidate will support the Directorate Research Coordinators in setup and coordination of studies and liaise professionally with colleagues both within and outside of the Trust to promote effective communication and a positive attitude to research. The post holder will also play a key role within the directorate, assisting with clerical tasks for the Directorate Research Executive to support productivity and implementation of the directorate research strategy across Specialised Cancer.
The successful candidate will ensure successful delivery of the future Specialised Cancer research portfolio by:
- Supporting the transition to streamlined, efficient processes within Specialised Cancer and the Trust, to work towards current and future objectives.
- Positively building and developing communication both within and outside the directorate.
- Effectively tracking and maintaining the flow of research through the directorate.
The role also provides potential for application and development of key knowledge in relation to clinical research, governance, and administrative skills and understanding.
Main duties of the job
Assist with administration of internal and external meetings.
Professional communication with colleagues in various directorates as well as external study sponsors in order to transfer and request relevant information.
Assist with drafting internal documentation for the completion of the R&D and Directorate Research Coordinators.
Support with Directorate Executive Group meetings, including preparation of agendas, minuting, and dissemination of action notes.
Ensuring documentation is kept up-to-date and stored securely and confidentially as per Trust policy.
Provide additional administrative support for the Directorate and the Research Coordinators as required.
