An opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Management Department as an Assistant Planning, Projects and Development Accountant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role will play a key role in the Trust wide financial reporting and financial planning, as well supporting the patient level costing processes for the Trust. The Planning, Projects and Development team is responsible for the internal and external financial reporting and planning for the Trust, as well as the provision of support to adhoc major and complex Trust wide projects, and this role will play a key part within this busy team.

Main duties of the job

Produce financial analysis to support reporting to NHSE on both a monthly and ad hoc basis and also for the Annual Plan submission.

Support the annual planning process by collating Directorate financial plans and producing ad hoc analysis and summaries.

Collating monthly Productivity and Efficiency Reporting and preparing financial analysis to be presented to the Trust's Use of Resources Committee.

Working with the Costing Team, assist in the implementation, maintenance and development of a Trust wide costing system to ensure the timely and effective production of the Patient Services National Cost Collection (NCC) submissions and Education & Training Cost submission. Use the outputs from the SLR, PLICs and other benchmarking systems to complete benchmarking work and support Directorates to identify efficiency schemes. Support the PPD Accountant and the PPD Finance Manager to complete deep dive analysis and presentations to Directorate colleagues.

Provide financial support to major Trust wide projects and ad hoc analysis required by the Deputy Chief Finance Officer.

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent qualification / experience)
  • 2 A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification / experience)
  • Equivalent qualifications include AAT, CCAB Part Qualified and overseas equivalents of GCSEs and A Levels.

Desirable
