An exciting opportunity is now available in the Lab Med Microbiology department to work as a Laboratory Manager.
Applications are invited from suitably experienced HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists, holding either IBMS Fellowship (Microbiology) or a Medical Microbiology or Molecular Microbiology MSc and a post graduate Management qualification, to lead the Microbiology management team as the Microbiology Laboratory Manager in this busy Hospital laboratory.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and forward-thinking individual with good interpersonal and communication skills along with excellent planning, commercial and educational skills.
Main duties of the job
Candidates should have substantial post registration experience in both screening and diagnostic testing, including a significant period of Laboratory Management experience within an accredited Clinical Microbiology Laboratory and will hold a management qualification or equivalent experience and training.
The Microbiology Laboratory, part of the Microbiology Department, is based within the purpose built Laboratory Medicine building at the Northern General Hospital and provides a full diagnostic Microbiology service to the hospitals, GP's and clinics within Sheffield.
