Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for forward thinking, highly motivated nurses to apply for a post of Sister /Charge Nurse within the Geriatric Medicine Directorate, specialising in the care of elderly patients.
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic clinical leaders with proven track records of strong leadership, innovative practice and highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills, to help lead our ward teams to deliver an excellent standard of quality care to our patients.
The post is for Ward G2 which is at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. This ward will move to the Northern General Hospital within the next year.
The successful candidates with be honest, reliable, highly motivated and passionate about the delivery of excellence to service users. Driven to make a difference you will have a proven ability to manage change and be able to demonstrate the drive and passion required to motivate and engage staff; take ownership of challenge and manage changes across the clinical interface.
Applicants must have a first level registration along with an advanced diploma in nursing studies.
Main duties of the job
To develop and provide specialised programmes of nursing care to a diverse range of patients and support to carers on the ward.
To lead a team of qualified, support and student team members.
To take charge of the ward/dept regularly.
Support the Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered.
