Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Care Group of GRaDE (Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Diabetes & Endocrinology). We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in the role of Clinical Educator. The successful applicant will be supported by the existing team of Educators and key stakeholders.

You will be a highly skilled communicator with the ability to use your effective verbal, written and IT skills to assist the Education Team to provide a high educational achievement within the care group. As part of the Clinical Education team you will be involved in the delivery of varied and exciting educational programmes, including the annual Mandatory Training programme for all grades of staff across a range of multi professional disciplines. You will also have a key role in the teaching, assessing and supporting individuals to achieve competence of core clinical skills. You will also be part of a team supporting and developing International nurse recruitment programme.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide training and supervision for the Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA's)
  • To facilitate training for the ward based team. Monitor training compliance and using PALMS with ESR maintain records of attendance providing compliance reports when requested.
  • To develop and maintain clinical practice, enhancing and ensuring clinical competencies of TNA's and ward staff in order to provide specialist care within the directorate.
  • To support the development of an induction pack for new roles such as the TNA Staff, and ensure all staff are appropriately inducted.
  • To support multi-disciplinary training and education initiatives in the service.
  • Support education and training within the directorate, acting as a resource to facilitate the development of professional skills.
  • Support the ward teams in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered
