Jessop Fertility offers a unique and dedicated service to couples who are experiencing fertility problems. Located in the Jessop Wing, Sheffield, Jessop Fertility is one of the UK's leading assisted conception centres. Our service is led by highly experienced NHS consultants who are experts in the field of infertility and reproductive surgery to ensure that you receive an exceptional service with continuity of care. We offer the very latest assisted conception techniques, and our laboratories are equipped with the most advanced technology available. Jessop Fertility is part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and works within its clinical governance. We are licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).
Main duties of the job
1. Undertake administration functions for the department, such as e-mail, post, telephone calls, messages, photocopying and scanning.
2. Undertake accurate recording / inputting and amending of data within patient notes and Trust information systems, including input of data to HFEA regulatory body within set timeframes.
3. Booking and rescheduling patient appointments.
4. Work collaboratively with the wider departmental team to ensure a consistent and effective Patient First service.
5. Assist and support in the development and improvement of the service by sharing discussing and implementing new ideas and ways of working with colleagues and Directorate staff.
6. Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust and actively participate in personal development.
7. Adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Work effectively as a team member working to the units protocols and policies in line with the Trust and HFEA Code of Practice.
8. Assist with the archiving of patient notes in line with HFEA regulations.
9. Taking and processing of payments for self-funding patients.
10. Liaise with internal and external departments/persons to arrange interpreters for clinics or other activities.
11. To maintain the highest standard of confidentiality in line with the Trust policies and procedures practices for safeguarding medical information and the HFEA code of practice for safeguarding patient identity and medical information.

The Assisted Conception Unit works to a shift pattern on a rota published at least 8 weeks in advance, including Saturdays & bank holidays.
x 7.5 hour shifts per week on a rota of which:
- 1 x shift will be a late shift of 09:00 - 17:00 on a Wednesday
- 1 x shift will be a late shift of 09:00 - 17:00 on a Thursday
- 1 x shift will be a late shift of 09:00 - 17:00 on a Friday
- 1 x shift will be either 07:30-15:30 or 09:00-17:00 Monday or Tuesday depending on staffing & availability
- 1 x 7.5 hour Saturday shift per month with a day off in the same week preceding
and an additional and 30 minutes on 3 of the other 4 shifts in the preceding week to make it 37.5 hours.
We are looking for exceptional individuals with excellent interpersonal skills, good organisational skills and a real passion for delivering a high quality patient experience and those looking to develop and progress in the NHS. You will need to be a confident and professional communicator with patients and Trust colleagues by telephone and have and good aptitude for using a variety of IT systems.
