Job summary
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is looking to recruit Junior Clinical Fellows at FY2/ ST1 level to multiple specialties (Renal Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Respiratory & Diabetes and Endocrinology (GRaDE) commencing October 2023 for contracts ranging from 5 - 8 months each. The vacancies are a mixture of gaps due to training vacancies and also winter pressures. Where the appointment is to training gap, the post will potentially include a rotations to a second specialty where applicable.
MBChB or equivalent qualification is essential with full GMC Registration & a License to practice by the date of application. Full ALS will be required for candidates being appointed to Medical specialities.
These posts do not award a National Training Number. As these posts are not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of these posts are equivalent to that of a F2 / ST1 level doctor.
Main duties of the job
The duties include assisting in the day-to-day management of inpatients; attendance at Consultant ward rounds; prompt completion of e-discharge summaries; teaching medical students as directed; and attendance at clinical meetings.
