Job summary
Applications for this post are invited from Clinical Scientists with an appetite to address the challenges of service growth and improvement, underpinned by strong experience in Radiation Protection, Diagnostic Radiology and Quality Assurance.
As a member of the Radiology Physics Group the post holder will be responsible for acting as a Medical Physics Expert within the Diagnostic Radiology Sub-group and delivering high quality Radiation Protection, Quality Assurance and scientific support services to Radiology departments within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other NHS and commercial organisations within South Yorkshire and beyond.
Main duties of the job
The focus of this post is the delivery of efficient, high-quality Radiation Protection, Quality Assurance and leading edge imaging. This will require working with the DR Sub-group to provide ongoing optimisation of Group services to support clinical developments.
We require applicants who can rise to the challenge of delivering a multisite/multi-customer service. Support for research and development programs and active involvement in teaching and training will be expected. The Group is actively involved in quality assurance, clinical service development and research across modalities.
Applications are invited from Registered Clinical Scientists who are registered Medical Physics Experts with RPA2000. Candidates applying for accreditation would be appointed at a lower grade until MPE accreditation was granted.

- Honours degree in Physical Science at 1st, 2(i), 2(ii) level or equivalent
