To support the ongoing development and operational management of the South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire Hepatitis C Operational Delivery Network (South Yorkshire HCV ODN).
The South Yorkshire HCV ODN aims to deliver high quality standardised care for patients with Hepatitis C (HCV) across the South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire region, with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH) acting as the ODN host ("hub") organisation and supports partner provider ("spoke") organisations within the region.
The role of the ODN Co-ordinator is to co-ordinate, supervise and maintain robust data collection and validation mechanisms to support the Hepatitis C elimination programme.
Main duties of the job
To maintain content and quality of data within HCV related databases.
To co-ordinate the collection and recording of mandatory data from each of the ODN partner organisations.
To liaise with and coordinate data exchanges between relevant partner agencies e.g., substance misuse services.
To ensure accurate and timely reporting of mandatory data within specified deadlines to NHS England (NHSE) and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
To provide a co-ordinating role for the management of the NHS England (NHSE) National HCV CQUIN for the South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire region.
To collate data, produce reports and export data requests as required, obtaining information from a variety of sources including patient records and laboratory results.
To support the ODN Case Finder, the ODN Manager and the ODN Clinical Lead.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.

About us
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the lead centre for South Yorkshire HCV ODN, which serves a population of approximately 1.7 million and an estimated 5,000 patients with HCV infection, approximately 4% of the national prevalence. The South Yorkshire HCV ODN also provides HCV services to prisons and psychiatric secure units.
The South Yorkshire HCV ODN multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprises: the ODN Clinical Lead (Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases), other Consultant Physicians in Infectious Diseases, Hepatology and Gastroenterology, a Viral Hepatitis Nurse Consultant, Viral Hepatitis and Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, a Consultant Virologist, the ODN Network Manager, the ODN Case-Finder, and the ODN Co-ordinator. The South Yorkshire HCV ODN Clinical Lead, Network Manager, Case-Finder, and Co-ordinator work together within the STH Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine.
The STH Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine is located on E-floor of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital with out-patient facilities adjacent to the clinical ward area.
The Department has an extremely busy out-patient service with busy outpatient clinics every week and dedicated staff for Hepatitis (B & C), HIV/AIDS and TB monitoring. There are in addition general infection medical clinics for new and follow up patients.
