Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Radiographer to join the breast imaging team.
The Consultant Breast Radiographer will be an independent, autonomous, accountable practitioner working on their own initiative and taking a lead role in clinical decision making, working collaboratively with the wider multi-professional breast imaging and surgical team (MDT)
They will fulfil a senior role in the breast team with the autonomy to initiate action based on their interpretation of policies/guidelines, seeking advice if required. This will include providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues in relation to differential diagnosis and follow up.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a high quality and responsive breast imaging service as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whilst maintaining and monitoring performance as set out by the NHSBSP to enable standards to be met.
The post holder will be a highly motivated Radiographer with extensive expert knowledge and experience in all aspects of breast imaging. They will be Committed to the development and delivery of a high quality breast service in Sheffield.
Breast Imaging
The department provides a high quality, responsive breast imaging service for population screening and the symptomatic breast service in a safe and pleasant environment, delivering the highest standard of patient care which addresses clinical and holistic needs.
The department responds efficiently and maintains NHSBSP targets for the expanding screening population of Sheffield which is currently 80,000 and meets the 2 week wait for symptomatic breast assessment.
The department has developed and maintains excellent multi-disciplinary working relationships, which will provide an excellent service for the women of Sheffield.

- Post Graduate Award in Mammography Practice or Post Graduate Certificate of Competence in Mammography
- Relevant Master's degree in medical imaging or recognised qualification via the supported portfolio route from HEE Centre for Advancing Practice
- Consultant accreditation with nationally recognised professional body - e.g., Society of Radiographers.
