Sheffield Teaching Hospitals have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated healthcare professional to join our Enteral Nutrition Service. This exciting new post offers the applicant an opportunity to develop advanced and specialised clinical skills relating to enteral nutrition.
The post holder will provide specialist knowledge; undertake investigation and treatment in the diagnosis, management and clinical care of patients with disease-related malnutrition requiring percutaneous enteral nutrition.
The post is hosted within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Directorate, and will work closely with the gastrointestinal multidisciplinary team to support this diverse patient group across a variety of settings, ensuring that patients receive prompt patient-centred care, treatment and advice.
Main duties of the job
Perform advanced and specialised clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of enteral nutrition service patients including invasive procedures within the GI tract
Work with the Gastrointestinal MDT to support optimal service provision delivering care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Also undertaking relevant procedures within defined protocols
Provide expert advice, education and support to patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals within this specialist field
Be allocated their own work stream, and working flexibly in support of optimal service provision, will regularly back fill sessions of other practitioners
Work with the senior team to undertake and maintain National, Trust and departmental clinical audit to support quality assurance, patient safety and clinical governance

- Registered Allied Health Professional (AHP) or Nurse (NMC) or Physician Associate (PA)
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
- To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
- Willing to undertake Non-medical prescribing qualification and advanced physical assessment at MSc level 7

- Hold or be working towards a MSc (level 7) degree
