Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for registered pharmacy technicians to join our expanding and evolving medicines supply service team within the forward-thinking Pharmacy Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We have permanent positions available both on our technician rota and in the dispensaries. The rotational posts include working in the aseptic unit in addition to the dispensaries.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are committed to their work, have a high level of attention to detail and can offer flexibility and professionalism in their role.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress automatically to a Band 5 Team Leader post once the relevant training and competencies have been achieved.

Main duties of the job
Accredited checking of dispensed medications.
Dispensing medications including controlled drugs and clinical trials
Supervising and organising staff
Mentorship and training responsibilities.
Ensuring efficient workflow and prioritisation of work.
Communicating medicine related information to patients.
In addition rotational duties will also include:
Preparing and processing aseptically prepared products including IV additives, adult and neonatal TPN, cytotoxic and clinical trial materials, in accordance with approved worksheets and SOPs.
