Job summary

The post holder has specific responsibility for supporting the development and implementation of the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics (MIMP) Directorate Governance and Quality Improvement strategy working in partnership with the Medical Imaging Manager and MIMP Executive team. This involves coordinating strategically and operationally all aspects of healthcare Governance and Quality Assurance management activities across medical imaging and medical physics.

They will act as the main point of contact in relation to Clinical Governance Quality Assurance, business continuity issues as well as lead on the preparation for any CQC inspection or Accreditation of directorate services.

Main duties of the job

This involves coordinating strategically and operationally all aspects of healthcare Governance and Quality Assurance management activities across medical imaging and medical physics. They will establish positive working relationships with all colleagues across the directorate and wider Trust and act as the main point of contact in relation to Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance and Business Continuity issues.

The post holder will work in partnership with patients and their families and the multi-disciplinary teams to create an environment in which improving the quality of the services delivered is paramount.

  • Registered Healthcare Professional
  • Grade C GCSE Maths and English or equivalent. Excellent numeracy skills - ability to source and analyse data
  • Educated to BSc level (in a radiography, nursing, or other relevant health care subject) or have appropriate qualifications combined with equivalent experience to this level.
  • Post graduate qualifications at MSc level or equivalent experience in medical imaging or healthcare governance or in the process of doing a Master's degree in a relevant subject with appropriate qualifications combined and equivalent experience to this level.
  • Advanced IT skills. Experience of using IT packages (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable

  • Radiation protection Supervisor or radiation related qualification
  • Risk management/health & safety qualification
  • Teaching Coaching or Mentoring qualification.

  • Significant healthcare governance, occupational safety, and risk management experience.
