Job summary
The Directorate of Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Neonatology at Sheffield Teaching Hospital Foundation NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a whole-time Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to be based at the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
This post will be for 12 months in the first instance with a potential for extension. Candidates who have requisite experience and are in the process of a CESR application or considering the same are also welcome to apply.
An interest in Maternal Medicine or General Gynaecology could be accommodated, based upon assessment of the successful candidate's qualifications and Directorate's needs.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a Comprehensive Obstetrics Service providing maternity services to approximately 6500 women annually. He/she will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence and will have continuing responsibility for patients in his/her care and the proper functioning of the department.
The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract
The allocation of time between the various duties of the post will be open to some adjustment in consultation with Consultant colleagues and the employing Trust and exact out of hours commitments will be clarified at appointment but will include resident night shifts.
