Main duties of the job
The Deputy Associate Clinical Sub-Dean (Deputy ACSD) supports the delivery of high-quality undergraduate medical education at UHS, working closely with the Associate Clinical Sub-Dean and the wider DME team. The role has a particular focus on the support, development, and coordination of Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTFs), as well as the strategic management of Year 3 and 5 placements in medicine and surgery.
You will play a key part in ensuring students have a structured, supportive, and rewarding clinical experience, especially during 2027 when both Year 3 and Year 5 cohorts will undertake simultaneous placements.
You will be responsible to the Associate Clinical Sub-Dean and will contribute to local implementation of guidance from the University of Southampton Faculty of Medicine, the Medical Schools Council, and the General Medical Council.
