Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen as a phlebotomist covering coronary care unit, Cardiac high dependency and D3 ward. You will play an integral part of delivering high quality care to our patients. If you are self-motivated and able to manage your own work load while responding to urgent requests from both nursing and medical colleagues then we would like to hear from you.

Cardiac high dependency and the Coronary Care unit care for emergency admissions from our local area and surrounding hospitals with acute life-threatening cardiac conditions and patients with planned cardiac procedures and operations. D3 is a cardiac surgery and cardiology ward specialising in post TAVI procedure care and high observation ward-based care for post cardiac surgery. We are a team committed to providing high quality care to all. We provide 24-hour cover 7 days per week.

What youll do A phlebotomists role is to provide a high-quality phlebotomy and cannulation service that offers the best possible standards of patient care to inpatients and any other area requiring venesection/cannulation services. You will assist in the provision of individualised care, under the supervision of a qualified nurse and others in the health care professional team. You will be required to start your shift between 06:00 to 07:15, work 7.5 hours a day, with the 1 in 4 weekend cover. What were looking for You will need to be self-motivated, dynamic, with a passion for taking blood samples while delivering high quality patient care. You will have a keen eye for attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your own workload, as well as a keen learner that embraces change whilst maintaining high standards.
