Main duties of the job

Due to promotion, we are looking for a band 6 Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technologist to work as part of a forward-looking multidisciplinary team. We offer a varied and evolving portfolio of diagnostic scans, molecular radiotherapy, and research and would love you to join us.

The department was fully refurbished five years ago and has 2 Siemens SPECT CT (Intevo Bold and Intevo 6) and a gamma counter. We offer a wide range of diagnostic tests for both paediatric and adult patients. We operate extended opening hours (08:00 to 18:30) including Saturdays. We see over 5000 patients annually.

  • HCPC/ Registration or RCT (Clinical Technologists) / Academy of Healthcare Science Registration
  • Considerable post graduate experience of working in a department using IR(ME)R 2017 and IRR 2017 regulations in clinical practice
  • BSc. Radiography or Clinical Technology or equivalent.
  • Team player who can also work independently.
  • Sound knowledge of all areas of Governance including H&S, COSHH, Manual Handling
  • Able to work within protocols
  • Experience of teaching, mentoring, and supporting colleagues training and development.

  • Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills including responding appropriately to distressed patients and staff and distressing circumstances e.g. suspected physical abuse, major trauma, cancer and death.
