Main duties of the job

Would you consider joining the Safeguarding Team at University Hospital Southampton?This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, friendly, and self-motivated individual with extensive safeguarding knowledge to undertake a 12 month secondment in an operational leadership role within the Trust Safeguarding team and to support with the ongoing implementation of the Trust's Safeguarding Strategy.We are looking for an individual who has sound inter-personal and multi-tasking skills with a comprehensive knowledge of Child and Adult Safeguarding and MCA Legislation and Frameworks. The individual will be required to work flexibly within a small team in a busy and at times challenging working environment.We are looking for an experienced practitioner with extensive post qualifying experience including working within a safeguarding specialist role. A degree is essential with evidence of further study relevant to the Safeguarding Children and Adults agenda.The post offers a high level of job satisfaction with the opportunity to gain leadership experience with support from the Named Nurses. The post also offers a breadth of experience in an acute hospital environment including multi-disciplinary working, multi-agency working, audit, training and Safeguarding policy development.
