Bramshaw ward at Princess Ann Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior Sister. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has excellent care values, a strong sense of team spirit in promoting and leading diverse and inclusive teams. We embrace innovative thinking on Bramshaw ward and are looking for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to come and work with our friendly and supportive team.
The Princess Anne has 4 theatres undertaking obstetrics, gynaecology, and breast surgery, and Bramshaw ward ensures the the best care is provided for these patients after their procedure. We also act as an emergency admissions unit for gynaecology and pregnancy up to 20 weeks.

Develop and maintain a ward/department philosophy that has the patient at the centre of care delivery.Be the primary focus within the ward/unit environment.Provide professional nursing leadership at ward/unit level and work with the Matron to enhance nursing practice and strategy.To work in partnership with the Lead Clinician and ensure accountability for the delivery of the quality performance agenda.Manage the ward/unit and be responsible for ensuring 24-hour cover for the services provided and skill mix required.Be a role model for all and contribute effectively to inter-professional team working.Incorporate the Matrons ten Key responsibilities in the role as laid out in Modern Matron Improving the patient experience (DoH 2003).Facilitate evidence-based care and act as a clinical expert at ward/unit level.Evaluate the relevance of changes in clinical practice and then support and facilitate implementation in the clinical area.Develop a quality learning environment linking education and training with the delivery of high standards of patient care and retention and recruitment of staff.
