Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team of 25 staff working within our unlicensed section 10 Technical Services Unit (TSU).

TSU provides both a Centralised Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) service supplying both individual patient doses and TPN to neonatal, paediatric, and adult patients at UHS.

We are a friendly, forward thinking and continually developing service. UHS is investing heavily in Pharmacy Aseptics with the development of a new off-site aseptic unit due to be open in late 2024. There will be plenty of opportunity to be involved in training, improvement, and implementation of new processes within the department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with some hospital experience either pre or post registration. Prior experience in aseptic preparation would be an advantage but not essential. We are looking for someone who is keen to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills to train and support others, including the ability to provide both positive and constructive feedback to staff and to liaise with other health care professionals. You must lead by example by upholding a high standard of work and displaying a positive professional attitude. You also need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to show initiative.

Main duties of the job

Attached you will find the person specification document which provides more detail about the essential and desirable skills and experience needed for this role. These also specify the requirements for progressing from band 6 to band 7 as part of the role. This is dependent on competencies and experience within the department.
