Job summary
This is a unique opportunity for a midwife with leadership experience to work with a team of midwives to deliver the Maternity Triage Services across Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth (SHIP).
As matron for the service you will be working with 4 large Maternity Services with a total of 17,000 births a year to ensure that the triage services are safe, effective and responsive. The role will ensure that the day-to-day operations are safe and caring, staff are supported and trained appropriately and quality and safety measures are reflective of the high standards of the participating Trusts.

This role is an LMNS collaborative role working with 4 Trusts in partnership to deliver the Maternity Triage Services based in the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), Southern House, Otterbourne.
Whilst the role is hosted by UHS its main purpose is as follows:
* Provide midwifery leadership, expertise and coordination of the Maternity Triage Telephone Services (Labour Line and AN Triage) delivered by UHS, HHFT, IOW and PHUT.* Provide assurance to all partners regarding the safety, quality and governance of the Maternity Triage Telephone Services.* Ensuring supported development of the Maternity Triage Telephone Services midwifery staff facilitating continuous learning and governance.
What we are looking for:We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with a track record of working in collaboration with others to deliver services. An excellent understanding of the evidence that underpins practice and a desire to drive improvement.
The service is based in Otterbourne, but will require travel to partnering Trusts. Some working from home may be possible.
