Are you a qualified Critical Care Outreach Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking for a new challenge in a large tertiary centre? The Critical Care Outreach Advanced Clinical Practice team (CCOT ACP) are recruiting. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative member to join our existing team and we welcome applicants from all nursing and allied health professional backgrounds.
We would also welcome applications from qualified ACPs from a different speciality with previous critical care/emergency department experience who would be required to complete the National Outreach Enhanced and Advanced competencies during their supernumerary period.
UHS CCOT service was established in 2001 and is a 24/7 acute care referral service covering approximately 1200 adult beds across a large tertiary centre. The CCOT ACPs work collaboratively with the ward teams across all specialist areas within Southampton General Hospital & Princess Anne Hospital providing high quality advanced level care and management of acutely ill adult patients, adult patients who are at risk of deterioration or other immediate life-threatening events.

Using your extensive critical care knowledge and experience you will deliver advanced level practice to acutely ill patients within the ward environment providing strong leadership and positive role modelling.
You will practice both independently and in partnership with the multidisciplinary team underthe clinical supervision delegated by a consultant and/or Specialist Registrar and under theguidance of the Lead CCOT ACP.
You will use collaborative and independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement, manage, and evaluate the clinical care and management of your patients.
You will participate in the provision of clinical leadership, supervision, and structured teaching for the multidisciplinary team to facilitate ongoing training and education.
You will need to provide evidence demonstrating your ongoing CPD across all 4 pillars of advanced practice.
This role is for a 24/7 service and includes day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
We have a dedicated Consultant Intensivist providing regular formal clinical supervision and education. We are committed to supporting your ongoing development across the 4 pillars of advanced practice providing you with the opportunity to explore research/ audit/ service improvement projects, formal and information education and teaching opportunities and the development of your leadership and advanced clinical skills.
