Job summary
University Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a part-time (60%) experienced Senior Finance Systems Specialist to work with an important project from now until November 2024. The project involves migrating the Trust's core finance system, Oracle Fusion, from its existing platform to a new one, provided by an external third party who specialises in these systems.
You will be joining the Project team lead by the UHS Finance function, based in Southampton Hospital. This role is envisaged to be a mixture of office and home-based working, with the need to video conference frequently. The specific work pattern to fulfill the 50% time requirement is to be discussed and mutally agreed between the candidate and the project team.
This role would suit someone who has a solid background in finance, experienced in finance processes and systems, and preferably with a deep understanding of Oracle and/or Oracle Fusion, who wishes to work in a flexible way and largely managing their own time.
Main duties of the job
YOUR MAIN DUTIES
You will act as the (NHS) finance expert assigned to the Oracle migration project.
Responsible for liaising with the various finance teams that use the system, ensuring they are engaged with the project and act as a communication channel from the finance departments back to the project (team).
Liaise with the 3rd party supplier of the Oracle Fusion system to understand how UHS's requirements can be met by their system.

Assist the finance teams in objectively prioritising their requirements, based on their business /patient value.
Perform gap analysis between UHSs requirements and the capabilities of the identified solution.
Help organise and assist the UHS finance team representatives in testing the system.
Work with the solution provider in identifying solutions, work-arounds and/or managing end-user expectations when functional gaps or differences are found between the existing way that UHS prefers to operate and the way that the solution system operates.
