INTRODUCTIONAn exciting opportunity has arisen within our internationally renowned Perioperative Medicine Team for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) and Prehabilitation Service. We are looking for someone with experience undertaking clinical cardiopulmonary exercise tests as part of preparing patients for surgery.ABOUT THE TEAMWe are a dynamic team assessing, educating and supporting patients prior to major planned surgery, from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Our service is delivered Monday to Friday to over 1000 patients year. Every member of the team has their own unique role and everyone is encouraged to put forward ideas for improving the service, as well as being supported to reach their full potential.

What were looking for
We are looking for someone with applied clinical exercise physiology experience and knowledge, and at least 1-2 years of direct experience working clinically. You should have experience conducting cardiopulmonary exercise tests in the clinical setting. An ability to read and interpret exercise electrocardiograms in clinical practice is essential. Ideally you will be Accredited/Certified with a recognised Exercise Professional Body (e.g. ACSM) or are working towards this. An ability to demonstrate applied clinical exercise prescription experience and knowledge is also desirable to assist with delivering our exercise prehabilitation service. You need to be physically fit as the clinic necessitates long periods of time standing and wearing appropriate PPE. This role is a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term position for 12 months.
