Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer an opportunity for a motivated nurse to join the team as Junior Sister/Charge nurse within the surgical care group on E5b Upper GI. E5b is a 18 bedded ward that gains enormous satisfaction in driving high standards of care for patients that have undergone pioneering surgery, and thrives on the challenge to constantly improve their patient's experience from admission to a successful discharge, endorsed by our recent CAS review. We are a proud spirited team who always put the patient first, building trusting relationships with our longer term patient and their families.

Be proactive in initiating changes to support improvements to the services. You will manage a small team of nurses, and house keepers by completing annual appraisals, support training needs of the team and be involved in management process of team members. As well as Managerial responsibility you will be expected to carry the bleep for Staffing/acuity/beds for the Surgical care group. You will be involved in supporting other ward area and problem solving.
